By: Joy

This fic can be found at Fallen Angel Anime
A New Hope has beed slightly edited from its original state.

Gundam Wing doesn't belong to me, just to let you know if you didn't already! Don't sue me cause I'm a poor, cash-less, high school student!
However, Yūki (and all other original characters) as well as the storyline belong to ME. Don't steal them!

"Yeah, I need to find a town. Maybe get some ammoand some clothes"

"Hm. Theres one not far. Im part of the Guerilla Corps. We can help you out, but youre not with OZ, are you?"

No, Im from the Colonies. Yūki felt safe telling the woman this after she knew that she was a Guerilla.

Good. I can get you some food and you can get some clothes if you like. Lets go. The woman led Yūki through the forest. They traveled through a bog, and then past a mass of tangled vines. Yūki saw the small village of Guerillas.

"Major Sally, weve received word that the Toul base was attacked last night."

Sally smiled. "Good. I found this one about a mile away. Says shes from the Colonies."

The man looked at Yūki. Did you know about the attack?

She was a bit offended. "I helped stage it! If it wasnt for me-"

"Okay, okay. Go on inside with Sally and she can help you out, kid."

Yūki followed Sally into one of the houses. She sat down, and the Major poured her some tea.

So, she said, sitting near Yūki, whats youre name and wherere you from?"

Major Sally seemed kind enough to trust. Yūki Eso. Im from the Colony cluster L1.

"Really? Ive heard of the Eso family. Im sorry about what happened to your parents. Im Major Sally Po."

Yūki sipped her tea and said nothing more.

She stayed there for a day and bought some more ammo, clothes, and things like that.

"Major, I hope to see you again. I have to be on my way now."

"Alright. Good luck, kid."

Sally had taken Yūki all the way to Toul, the city, not the base, in a large truck. The woman had been more than kind.

Yūki wandered around in the streets, keeping her eyes open for something to steal. She spotted a large suit or truck garage, and sneaked inside, hearing voices.

"Theres gonna be another attack. OZ knows youre here."

"I know. Thats why Ive got Wing here. I can handle it, I dont need your help."

Wing! Odins Gundam! Odin! If Yūki had been an ounce more excited, she wouldve run in right there. However, she knew the other voice mayve been an enemy.

If OZ attacks Toul from their base, Ill be ready. I will find you again Odin. Promise. She ducked out. All she had to do was hang around that part of town for awhile, which was all she did. She wore normal clothes, as not to arouse suspicion, but underneath, her wetsuit was ready.

At exactly 5:37 that afternoon, mobile suits, Leo to be precise, roared into the city. OZ didnt seem to care about the scared civilians; they treaded over cars and all. Yūki readied herself by ducking into an alley. She watched.

Out of the garage, two Gundams sprang up. They fought hard, and eventually drove OZ out. She knew one of them was Odin.

When the fighting was over, each Gundams' pilot hatch folded open, and the pilots stepped out onto them. One was Odin! Yūki could barely contain herself. The other was a slender boy with odd hair and an even odder expression.

Yūki walked out into the open, now wearing her wetsuit. She stood between the two Gundams. "Heero!" The two pilots looked down. The other one said something to Odin, but Yūki couldnt hear. Heero, its me! Odin had his Gundam kneel down and then jumped out onto the ground. "Heero, its been so long" His expression seemed cold, but Yūki had no idea why. "Heero?"

I have work to get done. Stay out of my way, Yūki.

She frowned. "Whats with you? Dont you remember; we were best friends."

"We were. But not any more. If you distract me, you could get me killed."

"As far as Im concerned, youre already dead. Yūki was heartbroken by the way he had treated her. The main reason she had wanted to go to Earth was to meet with him. She knew no one else and had no where to go. Odin, however, did seem a bit moved by what she had said. He was about to reply, but Yūki had turned and was gone.

**********

Yūki enrolled in the school that Odin had been in. She needed a cover again, and access to a computer. She received a transmission from Dr J telling her that there was a huge scrap yard in Colony L2. In it, another professor had barley begun work on a Gundam. He couldnt finish it, or even keep working on it. Yūki took up the job. She would be returning to Outer Space and building herself a Gundam.

Yūki knew that the only way to get to space was to steal a ship from OZ. The only way to do that was to bust into a base and kick some butt. There was absolutely no way that she could do it alone. She got an idea.

When she had run into Odin the other day, she had secretly slipped a tracker onto his Gundam. So what if he didnt want to work with her? Shed work with him.
