![]() A New Hope Chapter 2: The First Battle By: Joy This fic can be found at Fallen Angel Anime A New Hope has beed slightly edited from its original state. Gundam Wing doesn't belong to me, just to let you know if you didn't already! Don't sue me cause I'm a poor, cash-less, high school student! However, Yūki (and all other original characters) as well as the storyline belong to ME. Don't steal them! Yūki, as a cover-up, became a student at a local high s chool. She didnt like the feel of it though; it was too wealthy for her taste. The first day there, the other students talked about her. She was uncomfortable, but kept her cool.As she walked from class one day to her single-person dormitory, a notebook slid from the stack of books Yūki was carrying. There were three girls behind her, and one picked it up. Flipping to the first page, she saw what was supposed to be a letter, but it was written sloppily. It read: Heero, I have fin Yūki The girl gasped. She ran to catch up with Yūki. The two girls behind her watched with surprise. "Excuse me, do you know Heero?" she asked, handing the notebook back to her. Yūki looked confused. Heero..? Heero Yuy? "Yes! Thats him! Do you know him?" Yūki raised a brow. Yeah we grew up together. How do you know of him? "Well, I used to go to a school with him in Europe, but my family moved." Her face grew serious. "Europe? Is he that far? And just who are you?" "Yes, Im really sorry. I am Christine Lao. My friend, Relena Dorlian, knew him a bit better." "ChristineWait. Your friend, Relenashes a Peacecraft, isnt she?" Christine gasped, but Yūki didn't give her the chance to reply. "No matter. Miss Lao, I should be on my way." Yūki turned and kept walki ng. Odin had been in Europe. It would be hard to track him down now. She knew she had to. The letter she had written never got sent out of her own forgetfulness, and also because she didnt have a place to send it anyway. After dropping her books off, Yūk i decided to have a walk around town. It was so much different than it was in the Colonies. The fresh air, colorful plants, and warm sunlight were so inviting. For the first time in what seemed like decades, Yūki remembered the man who had trained her, Dr J. Her communication device had been destroyed along with her Gundam. Remembering him, she went straight back to her dormitory.Yūki, having no roommate, had all the time and space she needed to work. She took a seat at her computer desk. With a few clicks, and lots of typing, a single window opened on the screen. She had the skills to hack, and would do so in the case of an emergency. Yūki saw one document and opened it. It read: Yūki, Its me, Dr J. It has been months, and I havent spoken with you. Have you forgotten about us- the Colonies? Your home? I have written this letter in the hopes that you will get it. I have sent many more, and so far, obviously, I havent gotten a reply. I havent been able to reach you through your communicator. Have you turned it off? Has something happened? Even in the case it was destroyed, I know youre OK. You should to be; you have a strong will to live. There is a military base that is a threat to us at the time. There, OZ is developing cannons to fire at the Colonies. This place is Dodoma Military Base. I need you to attack and destroy as much as you can. The mobile suits especially. Be warned though, their Aries are deadly, as they train special pilots for them. I will know if you have gotten this letter if I hear of the Dodoma Bases destruction in the near future. Goodbye, and Good Luck. Yūki nodded at the screen. She planed to go the next day. When she awoke, the sun was shining. It was a Saturday, and that meant no school for her. She spent all day preparing for her attack. At 7:00 p.m., she put on her wetsuit and equipped bombs of all types, a few hidden handguns, and her rifle that she simply couldnt live without. She was ready to attack. Speeding up a hill, Yūki could see it. She was on a stolen motorcycle to reach the base faster. She stopped it and turned it off at the gates. There were extremely high fences with barbed wire on the top. Yūki climbed up one on the side and went over the wire with few cuts. She was in. Yūki heard voices, and dodged into the shadows of the inside of a warehouse. She cleverly kicked a pebble out in front of the two passing guards. Instinctively, they went inside the warehouse, and Yūki closed the doors behind them. Two shots were fired, and the men fell to the ground. No one knew because of the closed doors. Her strategic methods proved to be useful. When she turned around, she noticed she was in a warehouse full of Aries mobile suits. She took thirty interrupted minutes to carefully wire time bombs onto them. Running out and about the base, she did the same over and over, occasionally knocking a guard or two out, or killing one here and there. Soon the majority of warehouses had bombs in them, just waiting to go off. Then she saw it- the lab. Yūki made her way stealthily across the base to a small wooden building. She listened through the door, then went inside. It was a small building, one floor, and this wa s where the cannons were being made. She angrily smashed pieces until it was all a mess on the floor. She took an armful of remains, ran out, and scattered them- filling them with dust from the road. Still, she wondered how shed been unnoticed this whole timeYūki realized the bombs were about to go off, so she ran to the nearest fence. She began to climb, and then the noise shattered the night. More than fifty tiny but powerful bombs damaging suits beyond repair. On the top of the fence, Yūki pulled the pin from a hand grenade and tossed it at the barracks. It exploded. She leapt from the fence and ran. Behind her, she could hear shill sirens and Aries suits buzzing. They were looking for her. She kept running. The Aries were in the air behind her, swarming the outer rim of the base. Exhausted, she knew she had to stop. She found a large, hollow tree trunk and wedged in it. The fit was tight, but she had to hide, and that she did. She gasped greedily for breath. Then she realized the fact that was staring her in the face. That was her first attack- and it was an extreme success. |
