A New Hope has beed slightly edited from its original state.

Gundam Wing doesn't belong to me, just to let you know if you didn't already! Don't sue me cause I'm a poor, cash-less, high school student!
However, Yūki (and all other original characters) as well as the storyline belong to ME. Don't steal them!

A girl was walking down the street. She was fifteen years old, but often mistaken for a woman in her twenties. She looked around; everything around her was artificial. Thats the way she had always known it. She lived there, in that fake city.

Her hazel hair brushed in her brown eyes. She longed to go to Earth, although her life could well be in danger there. Her best friend would be leaving her soon, and she wanted to go with him.

The two had been friends from childhood. They grew up together. Trained since toddlers as rebel warriors, they were often together. Letting him go would be as hard as it was to see her parents die before her eyes.

It was year AC 195, and the girl was Yūki Eso. Her best friend, Odin, was leaving her and their home- the L1 colony. His training was complete, and he would now go to Earth to fight in a war between two huge powers of the planet. He would be using the latest technology, mobile suits, in which one could fight with an extreme power. His suit wasnt normal- it was a Gundam. In the Colonies in space, Gundanium Alloy was found and used to construct the metal war machines.

Yūki wanted to go to the Earth with Odin, but her training was not yet over. Since the only Gundam there was for her to use was an old model, she was being trained as a special agent. She would have to work better on her feet rather than inside a metal beast. She was determined to finish so she could go and fight in the war.

She neared a small secretive building and began to walk towards it. That was where she was to complete her training in a few months time. As she got to the door, a figure leaped out of the fake plants to her side.

"Odin? I thought you were gone already."

Odin looked at her smiling. He was so sensitive, no one could ever tell he would soon be on Earth murdering hundreds. "I still wanted to say goodbye."

"Hn. I thought your shuttle left. Well then, I guess Ill see you in a few months."

"Yeah! Keep up the good work, I know you can finish the class before they know it with your skill. I look forward to fighting alongside you on Earth. By the way, Dr J gave me the codename Heero Yuy. You cant do or say anything that could give me away."

Yūki nodded. She forced a smile. Although it was hard, she knew Odin would be glad to see it. "YeahGoodbye"

He nodded back to her, and was gone. Yūki, still a bit saddened because of his departure, went inside the building.

Day after day, week after week, Yūki endured the rigorous training multiple times. She was learning at a rate her mentor said was never before seen, and thats why she has been chosen to fight.

Yūki was physically fit. She had been so since a little girl, and that is why she had been selected. She was swift, smart, and courageous.

At last, the day came. Yūkis mobile suit stood out side of the building where she had trained all her life. She would be flying it to the Earth in a few minutes. An elderly professor stepped from inside the building.

Yūki, your parents would be proud. You have your mothers grace and wit and you fathers courage and cunning. I cant wait to see you off."

Yūkis parents had both been assassinated before her eyes at a gala. It had been at a party held in memory of the Peacecraft family. The two families had been good friends. A young man had marched in, shot her parents, and left abruptly. He hadnt looked too much older than herself. The Colonies were so pacifistic; it would have never been a person from there. Yūki would never forget the mans pale hair and mysterious style. She hated him for it.

Yūki stood by her Gundam, ready to depart. She was wearing her basic battle suit given to her by the professor; Dr J. It was a wetsuit meant for all-terrain-travel. It was deep gray, and had her several emergency guns, knives, and bombs strapped almost invisibly to the sides of her legs, some in pockets.

Yūki, it is time.

The pilots hatch, a doorway in the center of the Gundam, opened up, and she climbed up to it. Once there, she turned back again.

I will tell Odin hello for you, professor! She waved. And I will find the others! (Before this point, Yūki had learned that there were four other Gundam pilots already on Earth besides Odin.)

Dr J waved back, and she ran into the opening. The hatch closed. There was a tight room with a seat in he center, which she sat in. All around her were controls. Yūki pulled down her buckle and fastened it around her. Pushing a few buttons, she announced to herself, Ready for liftoff."

The suit rose high into the air, through a series of locks in the outside of the Colony, and into space. She could look back and see the solitary space station adrift on the sea of stars. Steering her Gundam with ease, she was on her way to Earth.

A lever was pulled, and a few switches thrown. Almost as soon as her journey began, it was over. Earth was in sight, and now the task was breaking through the atmosphere to safety.

"Auto-safety engaged, and Im ready to roll. A-170 atmosphere barrier on, and we have clear for landing."

The Gundam made its way down to the Earth. Like driving on a road of potholes, the suit began to shake. Yūki held on tightly to the seat. She was confident that she would at least make the landing. She just had to.

Thrusting a switch forward, her descent gained speed. She was dropping to the Earth quickly now- breaking through the atmospherenow past it. She could see land below her. She pushed a few buttons and threw a switch above her head. The speed didnt slow. She was tearing to the ground and couldnt stop.

When this Gundam had been given to her, she knew it had malfunctions. The whole system was on and running now, only ignoring her. She banged on the control panel frantically. "Oh come on! Work! I have to make it to see Odin! Damn this!"

A large grassy plain was all around her. No, it was real, not like in the Colonies. Real. It was Earth. A twisted heap was all about her, but she could see the green beauty. She smiled.

The Gundam had undergone severe damage, but was not yet destroyed. Yūki was so happy she had made itfinally. Down by her knee, her wetsuit was torn, but even worse, so was she. Her leg had been injured, and blood dripped from it. Yūki forced herself to her feet.

This was the kind of dilemma she had hoped wouldnt happen. She was stranded, hurt, and with no knowledge of first aid. She could just as well bleed to death.

Instead, Yūki grabbed her small bag of clothing and wrapped a sweater around the wound tightly. In the sky, something was headed right for her. She would deal with the leg later.

Climbing back into the Gundam, Yūki saw the damage she had never expected. Still, it would have to do. Two mobile suits much smaller than hers swooped down to her and rained gunfire. The only functioning guns in her Gundam were now the two on the helmet. She fired their powerful barrage at them. The two were easily destroyed. If they had tracked her on radar, she had to leave- without the Gundam. The gunfire had killed the last bit of life left it the Gundam.

She climbed out to the pilots hatch. "I hate to do this," she mumbled, pushing a red button on the wall of the ship. Immediately, she jumped to the leg of the Gundam and slid down it on her heels. She hit the ground and ran was fast as her hurt leg would let her. A crash echoed out behind her, and she dove. It worked, and now the Gundam had self-destructed. Yūki would never let OZ get their hands on a Gundam; it would mean failure and loss- even from a demolished one.
