A Hero�s Story
The drifting, speeding, shooting starBlazes over the heads of us all.
We only know that war is not far
To the battlefield we�re called.
Yet, I haven�t finished living my life;
Meeting friends, and forcing allies.
I was raised only to bring others strife�
A heartless machine in most peoples� eyes.
Now, the five of us depart
And who knows when we�ll meet again�
Maybe we�ll make a fresh, new start
And find each other �round the bend.
Not one of us knows who�ll live through this;
Who will live and who will die,
Who will always fail to miss?
And who will settle in the sky?
Perhaps that one with the braided hair,
Or the nameless face that treads west.
Maybe the one who wants peace out there�
Or the heart lying his pride to rest.
We do not know, nor will we ever
The fear that brews in victims� minds.
But I will fail, never!
For outside of battle, I am blind.
