Prologue

Frosty Furimasu sits in the battle arena area of Crescent Gym, awaiting her next challenge. She sips cold green tea from a small ceramic cup. The room is frigid, but somehow the young gym leader has adapted to the cold and developed immunity. With the welcome of the cold, her social life slips, and she spends her days training her three loyal pokemon.

Almost her whole life has been this way. Now eighteen, she faced a rough childhood. She grew up in Cerulean City, her mother�s hometown. She was the daughter of Violet, one of the beautiful Cerulean Sisters. Her mother passed away when Frosty was only eleven and at that point, her life began to go downhill. Lily, one of her aunts, also died mysteriously. Daisy, her last relative, had oddly vanished from the face of the earth. She had no siblings or cousins, and her father died when she was a baby.

When she was fifteen, Frosty received her Pokemon Trainer�s License, and began her pokemon journey. She took a trip to the Seafoam islands, and captured her first pokemon, Seel, on Rainbow Island. She had no friends, and she suddenly began to slip away. A member of the Shadow Gang found the helpless young girl back in her hometown, and tempted her into joining.

Frosty was a skilled pokemon trainer, yet she was never told so or even credited for it. She slyly stole several pokemon for the Shadow Gang. One day, however, she found the gang�s pokemon facilities, and sneaked inside. She discovered the horrible truth- they used the pokemon for cruel and insane experiments. Frosty saw a newly caught Vaporeon who had been taken from a reservation. It began testing, and she watched, terrified. When it was over, she kidnapped the Vaporeon, and later earned its trust.

Frosty had studied Ice type pokemon as a habit while in the Shadow Gang. She communicated with the best of her ability to the Vaporeon, and learned that its name was Nepty.

Frosty secretly ran away from the Shadow Gang. She decided that she wanted to become a gym leader. In her flight from the gang, who would be looking for her, she traveled once again to the Seafoam Islands. She stopped on Crescent Island and caught a Lapras.

She spent a year of solitary training with ice pokemon, and at seventeen, proved her skill to Misty, the Water Master of the Dream League. Because Misty approved her as a gym leader, she is the only one that Frosty will answer to.

Frosty had Crescent Gym cleverly built inside a cavern to hide out from the Shadow Gang. She still fears that they will someday find her and Nepty. She is a quiet, centered, and powerful gym leader with few friends, and battles mercilessly.
