Prologue

Dark sits on a bench near a PokeMart waiting for her friend to come out. Cass is inside purchasing some pokemon items. Dark is so mysterious and wears so much black; some people call her a Goth. She isn�t quite there yet, though. Her skills as a pokemon trainer are great, but she is still determined to polish them. She has never been a bright or happy person, and therefore she doesn�t make friends. She battles her pokemon whenever she has the chance, and fights as hard as she can.

Cass walks out of the PokeMart with a little bag filled with purchases. Her long brown hair waves a bit in the wind as she walks to Dark. Dark stands ready to go. Cass is Dark�s, Shiki�s rather, cousin. For some reason, she has always admired Dark for her intelligence and talent. Dark is lucky to have Cass with her; even she can get lonely. The two of them walk down the street. They are in Vermilion City, and are preparing for the Gym battle. Cass has won the Rainbow, Marsh, and Boulder badges. Dark has won the Rainbow, Cascade, Marsh, and Boulder badges.

The girls began their pokemon journey the year before, but they weren�t very serious about it. They hardly caught any pokemon, and their skills needed help. The two decided to crack down on training, and have become stronger, both mentally and with their talents as pokemon trainers. They are now ready to move on and get moving. Many adventures wait ahead as they make their way to the Dream League.
